All of us have been busy chatting about Sunday night’s red carpet beauties like Jessica Chastain, Natalie Portman and the like but what we haven’t yet discussed are the show stopping looks from all of the after parties! Check out some of our faves…
Sofia Vergara is a total bombshell in white applique, statement earrings and a bevy of bangles at the Vanity Fair party.
Zoe Saldana is never afraid to go high fashion for awards and after parties – I applaud her for that! She looks quite cool in her Marios Schwab & diamond bling.
Diane Kruger is effortless, sexy and bold in Calvin Klein Collection – she’s ravishing in red!
I love, love, love Olivia Wilde’s upswept hair at the Vanity Fair party – it was the perfect compliment to that modern gold choker.
I just adore this fun photo of Cameron Diaz & Kate Hudson. It is so Hollywood. Fabulous diamonds and glamorous red. Perfection!
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham. Another gorgeous red moment at an after party… what a stunning couple!
Kelly Ripa’s hair is fabulous here.
Gotta hand it to Heidi for rockin the bold gold – quite chic!
Anna Paquin’s earrings are very interesting. I love the pop of color and movement. VERY unique!
What are your favorite looks from the after parties?
Love,
Janet
It was more an evening of the dress than the jewel and the designers were amazing: Marchesa, Gucci, Armani, Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and others who did not let us down. Nevertheless, I believe a woman is not dressed to her fullest potential without the best accessories to highlight her style, differentiate and punctuate her look. The jewelry is what tells so much about ones personality. There wasn’t too much risk on this year’s red carpet in terms of jewelry so we must applaud Busy Phillips for her major earring choice – Irene Neuwirth boulder opal and diamond earrings. SHOW STOPPING!!
These were the earrings of the night.
Love Cameron Diaz in Gucci a simple diamond row necklace, looks fab and pure hot glamour!
Gwyneth needs earrings! Stark and stunning in white Tom Ford. Striking cuff and ring but a bit more sparkle at the face would be the icing on the cake! Safe or daring, it depends how you want to look at it.
Glenn Close is tasteful and graceful in Zac Posen. A tuxedo is always spot on.
Sandra Bullock in Marchesa looked elegant. Can’t go wrong with black, white, and gold embroidery. Small diamond drop earrings, classic like the gown!
Finally!! A fabulous diamond necklace on Natalie Portman with perfectly simple diamond drop earrings. She was the elegant hollywood glam I like to see. The red gown perfected her look.
Wow to Jennifer Lopez. Sexy lady did not disappoint!!! Daring as always in her Zuhair Murad and lovely diamond drop earrings – yet another pair!
Tina Fey; up swept hair, drop earrings, and strapless gown: perfection!
Angelina Jolie, a rich and original combination of Rita Hayworth, Ava Gardner, and herself. She’s imaginative, distinctive, sexy, dangerous, and knows how to work it all (especially the leg!) Mark your position and take your stand. You go girl!
Meryl Streep glowed in her gown and warmth. I loved the drape and glimmer of the fabric and the gold earring framing her face at the perfect length.
Viola Davis so lovely in emerald green Vera Wang gown with matching earrings.
Rooney Mara in white feminine Givenchy Haute Couture with the contrast of her severe black hair. Very interesting!!!
Jessica Chastain is absolutely magnificent in the Alexander McQueen embroidered gown. A vision of hollywood glamour. Possibly my favorite look!
Octavia Spencer from The Help was in a perfectly draped gown to suit and compliment her shape by Tadashi Shoji! Good looking tassel earrings to match.
Michelle Williams perfectly simple in bright coral Louis Vuitton gown. A classy knock out with her simple diamond graduated line necklace set in oxidized gold for a touch of vintage. A diamond bow pin at the waist.
Rose Byrne was incredibly chic and show stopping in her magical Vivienne Westwood. She brought sexy back in a big way and those earrings were the perfect compliment!
George Clooney always dapper and his girlfriend Stacy dressed beautifully in shiny gold lame by Marchesa. Clooney takes home the Oscar no matter what! He predicted “The Artist” will take home the “real” Oscar and he was right!
To a wonderful evening celebrating the exquisite talent in Hollywood, I loved it all and I can’t wait for next year!
Love,
Janet

I remember it was the fall of 1980 when Tony and I opened the Greene St. Cafe ( the first of many restaurants.) It was less than a year old and already the toast of the town in SoHo. Cissy Houston, even then a renowned Gospel singer, was backed up by 3 musicians and a single back up singer. That back up singer was Whitney Houston, her 16 year old beautiful daughter – a, tall, thin, gorgeous unassuming, innocent young lady. Cissy introduced her daughter Whitney, who then sang a solo accapella. After the first phrase, the room went silent, everyone knowing they were experiencing a moment of greatness. You could hear a pin drop and she was perfect. Never again have I heard such a perfect song or special moment. A star has moved to heaven. may she rest in peace.

Janet
Here is Tony last night speaking to a live audience at the Wynwood Walls on radio show “Myra,” a local personality. Tony is speaking about art, community building and the importance of street art on Modern Culture. Art has been part of our DNA from the beginning!
Today, we await the opening of Art Wynwood, the first annual art exposition, other than Art Basel. We are very excited!! There is a VIP opening tonight and it will be open to the public starting Sunday. There will be 60 exhibitors from the East coast to Europe. More later!

Music’s biggest night turned out to be just that; it was the perfect Sunday evening watching generations of amazing talent come together – I love the Grammy’s and here are some of my thoughts:
Alicia Keys V gold neck piece was fierce and against the chic black dress coupled with her KILLER voice, she always makes quite the statement.
Katy Perry’s diamond drops are at the top of the glamour charts. Love them!
Fergie, hello neon! I applaud her for taking such a risk. Her hoops are a bit large, you can almost jump through them but I do love the cuff!
Kelly Clarkson needs earrings and a bracelet although the necklace is sexy on her. Studs could definitely work there.
Rihanna stole the show. She is the hottest. I love the mix of simple big bold gold with delicate body chains. It all works on her and that custom Armani she wore was a work of art!
Taylor Swift doesn’t need any jewelry – she’s so pretty and that gown was magnificent. I love that she wore little topaz drops with it. Perfect.
Kate Beckinsale rocked in Sutra earrings – she let them do the talking and they certainly spoke to me!
Gwyneth Paltrow is like a sculpture. The belt is the accessory. Simplicity at its finest. This is an “art as fashion” statement. Fergie’s bold cuff could have worked on her too!
Nicky Minaj felt very 80′s to me – lots of leather and studs in her performance – everything old is new again!
The great Diana Ross wore a classic row of diamonds at her neck and dressed like the grand lady she is in flowing and elegant black.
Adele wins hands down for her style of soul. What a night for her and certainly well deserved! I loved her glamorous diamond button earrings. Very vintage feeling.
Kimberly from the Band Perry wore a three dove necklace from our new Turkish designer, Kismet by Milka. It’s small and delicate but makes a big impression especially when worn as a layering piece a la Fragments style!
Glen Campbell was amazing; like a true Rhinestone Cowboy. God bless him and also the industry that shows so much heart and love to their own who face challenges. It was beautiful and touching.

Tony Bennett and Carrie Underwood were a sensational collaboration. She looked so amazing – her bracelets worked perfectly with the glittery dress. Very together & cool. She was glam and a real midnight star – so right for the occasion.
And when it came to Jennifer Hudson – nothing mattered. Not the dress or accessories. It was her heart & soul that sparkled in her tribute to Whitney Houston.
Like Jennifer said, we will always love you, Whitney.
What a great show. When it comes to talent, we realize that its not what you wear, its who you are inside that makes you stand out and shine.
In the end the love you take is equal to the love you make!
Love,
Janet
