An Inside Peek at ENK

The ENK Accessorie Circuit just wrapped up, and we’re still swooning over the all of the amazing new jewels we saw!

Our designers never fail to impress us with their new collections, and this year was no different. Some of our favorite pieces were the skinny open cuffs from Kismet, Azaara, Mary Louise Designs, Suzanne Kalan, Melinda Maria and Susan Hanover. They looked gorgeous stacked up with more classic pieces or alone for a simpler look.

Piles of delicate rings and hand adornments were another big trend this season. Kismet and Nuugard showed some beautiful hand bracelets, and Melinda Maria’s gemstone rings were show favorites.

Our designers are often inspired by nature, and this season Kevia and Azaara both showed some great pieces featuring all manner of creatures, from rabbits and starfish to elephants and rhinoceros!

Jewel tones were another big trend this show, with Suzanna Dai presenting some seriously glamorous pieces in emerald, sapphire, ruby and royal purple tones.

A Look at Couture 2013

The Couture Show in Las Vegas is always a wonderland of spectacular jewelry and gems from the world’s best designers. Some of the best pieces from this year’s show featured unique stones and unconventional designs. Read on for some of my favorites!

Colette’s Edgy, Glamorous Hand Pieces

Snake Hand Piece From Colette

Colette Steckel has a way of creating a fashion-forward woman’s dream jewelry, every season. This summer she presented a group of stunning hand pieces made of interconnected diamond and gemstone rings that sit perfectly on the hand. Her diamond snake piece won her a Couture Award for the best diamond piece of the show, and I couldn’t agree with the judges more!

Sutra’s Showstopping Paraiba Tourmaline Earrings

Paraiba Tourmaline Earrings From Sutra

We can always count on Sutra to showcase the most brilliant gemstones on the planet in their ultra glamorous designs, and so it’s no wonder that they chose to use Paraiba tourmalines for their most spectacular earrings this season. The Brazilian gemstones are among the rarest in the world and seem to glow from within.

We always swoon over the new additions to Wendy Yue’s menagerie each season, and this spring there was a lot to swoon over!  A dual swan ring, forest fairy earrings and a set of opal lizards were some of my favorites, though it is hard to pick!

Nam Cho’s Brilliant Diamond Baguette Earrings

Nam Cho’s signature is classically beautiful fine jewelry with a cool-girl edge, and these amazing geometric platinum and diamond baguette earrings absolutely fit the bill.

Borgioni’s Chic, Unique Designs

Shark Tooth Ring from Borgioni

Borgioni’s jewels are obsession worthy, and this season’s collection was no different. They presented a diamond-accented shark tooth ring that sits over the knuckles and a technicolor precious gemstone double ring that graces the whole hand.

We are also so proud to be the home of four designers honored with Couture Awards this year: Colette Steckel’s snake hand piece won top honors in the Diamonds category, and Nam Cho, Moritz Glik and Mizuki also won recognition for their incredible work. And I was so excited to have been asked present the People’s Choice Award!

New Faces at Fragments

My favorite part of my work is discovering and supporting talent in the jewelry world–every season it always amazes me how many incredible new designers emerge with gorgeous collections and new points of view. This spring we welcomed many new and wonderful designers to our boutique and website, and I’d love to share them with you.

Eddie Borgo

Triangle Collar, $390

Triangle Collar, $390

Eddie Borgo was the darling of this year’s Met Gala with his modern punk designs, which graced the likes of Hailee Steinfeld, Sienna Miller, and Cara Delevigne. His sleek cuffs, spiky earrings and stunning collars will add the perfect bit of sparkle and edge to any wardrobe.

Elizabeth Cole

Lemon Mohawk Earrings, $240

Lemon Mohawk Earrings, $240

Bold, bright and beautiful are how we would describe Stephanie Owen’s Elizabeth Cole line, though there’s so much more to say about her vintage-inspired statement pieces. With an of-the-moment palette of colors and silhouettes that are universally gorgeous, the line has something perfect for everyone.

Syna

Syna Champagne Diamond Bauble Bangle, $4,000

Syna Champagne Diamond Bauble Bangle, $4,000

Syna means “together”, and the husband and wife team behind this New Jersey-based line are a perfect pair. Dharmesh and Namrata started their jewelry business in 2003 shortly after moving to America from their native India. Since then, they’ve created a colorful line of gemstone pieces that are as sweet as they are collectible.

Vita Fede

Rose Titan Bracelet, $275

Cynthia Sakai’s Vita Fede line has gained a cult following since 2009, and with good reason–their sleek Titan, Cubo, Cono and Circolo bracelets are available in any color you could ever need and are perfectly wearable everyday and for every occasion. Here at Fragments we haven’t taken ours off yet!

Zeira
